We are pleased to announce the winners of Havok’s June flash fiction writing contest. We operate in “seasons”, putting together a string of themes that eventually form a cohesive anthology full of winning stories. 2026 is our Encore! season, featuring themes from all twelve of our past seasons. And June’s theme is “Casting Call” — featuring the archetypes that have fascinated storytellers and audiences alike since the dawn of time.
Five stories are chosen for the monthly win: one from each of Havok’s five daily genres. Here are the top stories for Mystery Monday, Techno Tuesday (science fiction), Wacky Wednesday (humor), Thriller Thursday, and Fantasy Friday. These stories will go in our Encore! seasonal anthology, in both ebook and print formats (paperback and hardcover for our year-long seasons).
