Are you ready to hear how October’s flash fiction contest went? Of course you are. It’s well past time, since this blog post should have come out this morning! The theme during October was the classic character Dorian Gray. Every month in 2025 is featuring a character prompt for our Season 12: Multiversal contest, so you’ll see imaginative takes from many authors on the same character!
Havok publishes flash fiction in five genres, one for each day of the work week: Mystery Monday, Techno Tuesday (sci-fi), Wacky Wednesday, Thriller Thursday, and Fantasy Friday. Only one of those five winners will be selected by the character’s creator as “Phenny’s Favorite”!

October’s Featured Character: Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
Ever since we brainstormed the Multiversal season, we’ve been excited to see what would happen when the classic public domain character Dorian Gray intersected with the imaginations of our authors for publication during the “spooky season” of October. We were not disappointed, and neither were our readers! There were so many appreciative comments on the stories last month, and we enjoyed seeing the variety as the character was re-imagined into our five daily genres.
